One of the biggest bottlenecks in the recruitment process are disengaged hiring managers. Yet both hiring managers and recruiters have the same end goal, just different ways of getting there. To keep hiring managers engaged, it’s important to simplify the ways they can share their input and hold them equally accountable. To begin doing so, take the time to evaluate the design of the interview process so it caters to both perspectives. Rather than expecting recruiters to do the work to find the ideal candidate for a role, the hiring manager should work alongside the hiring team to clearly define the role, leverage their business networks to attract talent, and aid in the selection process. Recruiter success can be measured against KPIs while hiring managers can be measured against Hiring Success metrics. And in the end, everyone wins.
