The Office of Personnel Management, which is the HR function for the United States’ federal agencies, has instructed all agencies to onboard all new employees virtually, in addition to granting authority for agencies to rapidly hire emergency staff where required to fight the COVID-19 outbreak.
Before being able to work for a federal agency, traditionally you have to be sworn in and pledge an oath to the country and the agency where you will be employed. Therefore, with virtual onboarding processes, all oaths of office are being administered via Skype, FaceTime or additional video call technologies.
Has your company recently jumped into action to transfer all onboarding processes to take place virtually? If so, how have you handled the tech onboarding and people onboarding portions of the process?
